About Mark Drewry
Mark Drewry born in 1979
Started working at age 12 in an iron works shop. Welding and installing iron railings on residential and commercial sites
Age 14 I started landscaping and lawn mowing
Age 18 I started working for the family business doing home inspections on residential homes throughout Northern Virginia
Age 21 I started wls erosion control working for home builders installing erosion control products, grading lots, sod install, tree service, demolition, hauling. Running equipment on construction sites 6 days a week with 26 guys under me at the peak.
Age 27 I re branded my company to Grasshopper tree and landscape. Providing tree service to residential customers all over Northern Virginia. I owned Various equipment from Tree chippers to stump grinders Bobcat dump trucks chainsaws worked well with my prior experience and running chainsaws for land clearing. I rented multiple manlift from multiple different places for various jobs. I rented manlift’s on many occasions where it’s use was a better option than climbing the tree.
2015 I went through divorce and took a job at Aaron’s towing driving a rolloff truck, heavy wrecker and tractor trailers, hauling construction equipment for rental companies in local job sites in Northern Virginia. Equipment such as Bobcats, Track loaders, Excavators, Manlifts.
Over the course of my life I have rented and operated many lifts at least 25-30 times
2024 I started working for a land clearing company as a driver and an equipment operator clearing land for data centers, Running full-size excavators and driving tractor trailers
2025 around August I started grasshopper enterprise back up again. The first job that I did was the job that I got injured on and have not been able to work since. I can not be in the same position for longer than 15 min with out having to re adjust due to pain. My muscles in my back are so sown my cloths do not fit, I have to do dry needling at a physical therapist twice a week in an attempt to get the damaged muscles to heal. I personally continue to have nightmares and wake up in a cold sweat over the incident. When I hit the ground after the man lift flipped over one of the things that happened was my jaw slammed and shattered fillings and broke teeth in my mouth.
In summary running heavy equipment and driving trucks has been a big part of my life since my teenage years I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get back to being able to put my body through the abuse that sitting in a machine will do to you after this injury.
